Start with a clean roster

Place one participant on each line and remove accidental duplicates. Decide whether absent people should stay in the pool before the draw begins so the rule is the same for everyone.

Choose the structure first

Use the number of teams when you know how many stations, topics or captains are available. Use people per group when the activity has a strict capacity. When the roster does not divide evenly, good generators distribute the extra members one at a time.

Random does not always mean balanced

A purely random draw can place several experienced participants together. If skill balance matters, create skill bands and distribute a shuffled sequence from each band across the teams. Explain this rule before the draw.

Protect private data

Use first names, initials or anonymous identifiers when a full identity is unnecessary. Real Randomizer processes the roster locally in the browser.

Build teams with the Random Team Generator, create partners with the Random Pair Generator, or arrange seats with the Random Seating Chart Generator.
